Country artist Hardy was personally invited by Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Jimmy Iovine to cover of Snoop and Dre’s iconic track “Gin and Juice” for the launch of their new beverage line of the same name. Hardy first teased the cover with an Instagram post featuring a flick of him posing with the two hip-hop legends, where the three musicians appeared to be on the set of a forthcoming “short film” tied to Gin & Juice.
Said Hardy (per Billboard): “A while back, I got a phone call saying that Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg would like for me to record my own version of ‘Gin and Juice’ for the launch of their new drink, Gin&Juice. I’m still in disbelief, but I am so stoked that I’m dropping my version of ‘Gin and Juice’ with the blessing of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg themselves. Thankful for the opportunity.”
The new track follows Hardy’s headlining set at Tortuga, as well as his Stagecoach performance alongside longtime friend and collaborator Morgan Wallen. He will also perform at events including CMA Fest, Harley Davidson Homecoming, and is set to play his first-ever stadium this fall (and biggest headline show to date) in his home state at Mississippi State University’s Dudy Noble Field in Starkville, Miss. on Sept. 12. HARDY also confirmed two nights at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre Oct. 20 + 21, with Randy Houser and Travis Denning joining as support on all new dates.
